Hu Heping meets with Guests from Hungary, Nigeria and the US​

On June 4, governor Hu Heping met in Xi’an with Mr.Béla Kakas, President of the General Assembly of Csongrád County of Hungary, Mr.Benedict Ayade, governor of Cross River State of Nigeria and Mr. Matthew Mead, governor of Wyoming State of the US.

After extending his welcome to all the guests, Hu remarked that the “Belt and Road”Initiative and the idea of constructing the community of common destiny for human kind proposed by President Xi Jinping provided new ideas and opened new visions for world countries to expand cooperation for common development. At the core of the“Belt and Road”, Shaanxi will further expand international exchange and cooperation based on the important consensus reached at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. He also expressed hope to increase cooperation with Csongrád in infrastructure construction, investment and trade, agroproducts processing as well as culture and tourism.He also hoped to conduct cooperation in energy exploration and development with Cross River State which is rich in natural resources and is highly complementary with Shaanxi in economic development. Regarding Wyoming State as an important partner of Shaanxi, Hu expressed hope to deepen cooperation with Wyoming in more areas like modern coal chemistry and clean utilization of coal.

The counterparts from the three local governments responded by expressing that Shaanxi has a broad prospect for development and they are willing to carry out exchange and cooperation with Shaanxi in multiple fronts for shared development.

Following the meetings, MOU on friendly exchange and cooperation was signed between Shaanxi and Cross River State and cooperation agreements between Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Energy and Chemical Engineering and Wymoing company and university were also sealed. Also attended the meetings were Secretary General Chen Guoqiang of the provincial government and other officials from relevant departments.
