Director-general of Shaanxi Foreign Affairs Office Yao Hongjuan Attends the Inauguration Ceremony of Czech Visa Application Centre in Xi’an

On April 21st, Yao Hongjuan, Director-general of Shaanxi FAO,attended the Inauguration Ceremony of Czech VFS Visa Application Center in Xi’an.Czech Ambassador to China Mr. Kopecky, Head of the Embassy's Economic Section Li Kaishi, and Consul Counselor Wolf Kurkovva arrived at Xi’an for the ceremony.

Yao had a talk with Mr. Darth, China Director of the Joint Visa Center, getting to know the working mechanism and expressing her concern about the convenience for people exchange.

This visa application center accepts the visa application and makes fingerprint taking of ordinary passport holders whose destination are nine Schengen countries including Greece, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland and Czech and twoCommonwealth countriesincluding South Africa and the UK.

Yao had a work meeting with Ambassador Kaspersky after the ceremony, during which she briefly introduced the major foreign activities held in Shaanxi such as Euro-Asia Economic Forum, Silk Road International Expo and ITFCEW, China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair, Silk Road International Art Festival, and China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo. Yao said, Shaanxi is the frontier of China’s opening up and an important node of “Belt and Road” Initiative. What’s more, the inauguration of China (Shaanxi) Free Trade Piolet Zone has highlighted Shaanxi’s advantages like its geographical location, science and education, resources, industry and culture. She expressed her hope that further and deeper cooperation should be made in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and people to people exchange.

After the inauguration ceremony,Director-general of ShaanxiFAO Yao Hongjuan had aworkmeeting withCzech Ambassador to China.

Kaspersky said, he is delighted to know Shaanxi as the host province for such grand exhibitions and meetings. Czech tends to choose Shaanxi as the place to hold “Czech Day” of the “2017 Belt and Road Czech Year” and its closing ceremony of “Czech Year”. Czech will actively work with China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo and advance the work as the “Guest of Honor” of 2018 Silk Road International Expo and ITFCEW.

“2017 Belt and Road Czech Year” is the thematic activity of “Czech Day”, which is jointly held by the Embassy of Czech in China and Czech-China Friendship and Cooperation Association. “Czech Day” was initiated in 2015. During the event, senior officials of Czech will visit China and its business partners, business associations, research institutions and potential Chinese enterprises who want to invest in Czech.
